Earth Retention & Soil Nailing
Soil nailing is a type of earth retention system that utilizes anchors installed in a grid pattern and a reinforced shotcrete face.
The most common use of soil nails are for temporary construction walls, excavations for buildings, plants or parking structures. It can also be used for land stabilization and a variety of other situations.
Soil Nail Installation
Soil nailed walls are constructed in a top down fashion, typically in lifts of 4-5 each. After a lift has been excavated, USS will install soil nails per the design and apply a reinforced shotcrete face. Each lift must be completed before excavation of the next lift begins.
Soil nailed walls are very versatile. Design changes can be made very quickly based on changes in site conditions, which helps to keep your project moving.
